ANNUAL CLEAN UP

Our Annual Community wide clean-up is scheduled to take place during the month of June. We are again asking all residents to work with the town in cleaning up their property in Krotz Springs. a 40 yard dumpster will be stationed at the old dump site on old highway 190. The site will be open and manned Monday-Friday form 7am till 5pm and from 8am till 4pm on Saturdays. We ask that everyone take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of garbarge and debris, and white goods. NO TIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED!
Employee Appreciation

The Town of Krotz Springs recently had their employee appreciation banquet for all town employees. Employess recognized for their years of service: Councilman Craig Burghdoff 10 years, Dispatcher Kathy Martinez 10 years, Assistant Police Chief Nolan Noel 10 years, and Assistant Maintenance Supervisor James Ellis 15 years of service. We would like to thank all employees for your service to the town and the community.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Our Annual Independence Day Celebration will be held this year on Friday, July 4, 2025. A great fireworks display is planned for dusk dark. Prior to the fireworks we will enjoy the music of the "JC Melancon Band". Joey Melancon and friends will perform from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Patriotic music will accompany the fireworks. Complimentary hot dogs, water, sno-balls and watermelon will be available. We will be selling Fireworks on the River t-shirts. Please come out with your family and friends. NO BOTTLES OR DOGS ARE ALLOWED! Ice chests are permitted. The Kacey Cox and the Volunteer Fire Department will supervise the fireworks for the Town of Krotz Springs. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy "Fireworks on the River".
Looking Ahead: Buy a Brick

I know there are many Veteran's and Veteran supporters in our little town and surrounding area. In the future we will be selling bricks for a Krotz Springs Veteran Memorial at Nall Park. The applications will be available, hopefully soon, as we are still in the planning stages. Updates to follow and thanks for your support now and in the future. Now that school is out, children are out and about in the community. Please pay attention to speed limits and the children that are running around. Parents please make your children aware of the dangers of crossing streets, busy intersections and strangers. We want our children in this community to stay safe.
Summer Reading Program

The The Krotz Springs Municipal Public Library is thrilled to announce our Summer Reading Program: "Color Our World". We invite you to embark on a journey of art and creativity, celebrating ways in which art enriches our lives. Our program is designed to inspire and engage readers of all ages through a diverse array of artistic expressions. Our program will be held from June 9th through June 13th at the Gary Soileua Community Center, 216 Park Street from 10am to 12pm. For more information contact April Fletcher at 337-566-8190.

Community Center

This month marks the 21st Anniversary of the opening of the Krotz Springs Gary Soileau Community Center. The Community Center has a doctor's office, library and event room. The building is 9,000 square feet and the town recently added a playground for the children. For more information in booking venues please contatct town hall 337-566-2322.
Second Harvest

Second Harvest distribution will take place June 17th and 18th at the Gary Soileau Community Center, 216 Park Street from 7:00am to 10:00am. Applications can be picked up at Town Hall Monday-Friday, from 8am-4pm. For more information please call 337-566-2322. Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food and support to over 500 community partners and programs across 23 parishes. Krotz Springs is one many distribution sites to provide food. We currently service over 500 applicants in the parish. Our staff with the help of volunteers, Delek Refinery employees have made this a successful program in our town. On delivery day we receiver anywhere from 12,000 pounds to 18,000 pounds of groceries, we break down these pallets and make over 500 bags to be distributed to the public on two designated days every month. We would like to thank Mayor Carroll B. Snyder for starting the program, and Felicia Barker for heading this program and making it a success.

The Town of Krotz Springs has books for sale "Pictures From the Past" Volume I, II, and III at Town Hall for $10.00 a book. The books have a chronological order of the history of Krotz Springs.
Code Red

The Town of Krotz Springs has implemented CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based OnSolve, LLC. The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the Town of Krotz Springs emergency planning and communications outreach to both citizens and staff. The system sends telephone calls, test messages, and emails to inform residents to better protect life and property. CodeRED was selected for its reliabilty and accuracy, as well as the system's wide spread adoption rates across the U.S.
