This month marks the 18th Anniversary of the opening of the Krotz Springs Gary Soileau Community. The Krotz Springs Municipal Public Library and Dr. Greene's office are located in this building which serves the community.
Sunday, May 15, 2022 has been set aside as Town Employee Appreciation Day to honor our Krotz Springs Employees. The Gary Soileau Community Center will the site of the 34th Annual Employee Appreciation banquet. Employees that will be recognized for their years of service are: Amber Robin 10yrs., Nyssa Godwin 10yrs., Margaret Silvio 10yrs., Leona LeBleu 10yrs., and Cindy Stelly 10yrs. Congratualtions! Thank you to all our employees!
Town Hall will be closed Friday, May 30, 2022 in observance of Memorial Day. We will re-open Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day!
Second Harvest "Makin' Groceries Mobile Market" will be here May 17, 2022 at the Gary Soileau Community Center, 216 Park Street from 9am-1pm. Second Harvest's Makin' Groceries Mobile Market puts healthy meals in reach by providing locally grown, farm-stand quality produce directly to underserved communities throughout Acadiana. Our goal is to close the gap between the community and its access to healthy, affordable foods. You go home with fresh products at affordable prices! We hope the community will come out and shop and support this new program that is offered to our community.
The Town of Krotz Springs will hold its Memorial Day Program & Observance at 1pm, Monday, May 30, 2022 at Nall Park. The public is invited to attend as we unite to honor all deceased veterans of our community. The ceremony will take place at Nall Park pavilion.
Second Harvest distribution will take place May 17th and 18th at the Gary Soileau Community Center, 216 Park Street from 7:30am to 10am.
KS Sportsmens Heritage Festival will take place June 2-4, 2022 at Nall Park. Carnival ride bracelets will be sold on festival grounds. Thursday, June 2nd is Family Night and bracelets are $20.00 and Friday and Saturday, bracelets are $25.00. We will have the Fur, Feather, & Fin Cookoff, and live music. The pageant will be May 14, 2022; Children's Pageant will be at 2pm and Miss Teen & Queen at 4pm. There are a few camper sites at the park (contact Cindy Stelly 337-308-0314). The Krotz Springs Municipal Public Library's new hours: Monday-Friday 8am-6pm. We are asking patrons what kind of books/authors are you interested in seeing at the library and what kind of activities are you interested in seeing at the library? Anyone interested in using the parks for events must first check with Town Hall for availability to reserve the pavilions. We now have two pavilions that are available to the public for events. The permit is $50.00 and if the pavilion is cleaned and no damages $25.00 will be refunded. For more details call 337-566-2322.
Did you know...In the mid 1950's, a group of men known as "The Krotz Springs Citizen's League" formed and would meet monthly to discuss the needs of the town?
On January 6th the town celebrates it's 104th Birthday. C.W. Krotz successfully incorporated Krotz Springs as a village on January 6, 1917. The proclamation creating Krotz Springs was signed by Governor R.G. Pleasant. Krotz Springs remained a village until 1955 when it was declared a town.
This month marks the 18th Anniversary of the opening of the Gary Soileau Community Center. Rental of the facility is $700 with a deposit of $200. The deposit is refundable upon completion of all requirements. A contract must be signed and payment is required prior to activity. The community center has become a great asset to our town, we have a library and clinic established in the building.
