Memorial Day Program

The Town of Krotz Springs will hold its Memorial Day Program and Observation at 1pm, Monday, May 29, 2023 at Nall Park. The Public is invited to attend as we unite to honor all deceased veterans of our community. The ceremony will take place at Nall Park pavilion, 548 Haas Street.

Second Harvest's Makin' Groceries Mobile Market puts healthy meals in reach by providing locally grown, farm-stand quality produce directly to underserved communities throughout Acadiana. Our goal is to close the gap between the community and its access to healthy, affordable foods. You go home with fresh products at affordable prices! We hope the community will come out and shop and support this new program that is offered to our community.

This month marks the 19th Anniversary of the opening of the Krotz Springs Gary Soileau Community. The Krotz Springs Municipal Public Library and Dr. Greene's office are located in this building which serves the community.

Employee Appreciation Day

Friday, May 26, 2023 has been set aside as Town Employee Appreciation Day to honor our Krotz Springs Employees. The Gary Soileau Community Center will be the site of the 35th Annual Employee Appreciation Banquet. Employees that will be recognized for their years of service: Felicia Barker 5 years. Park Reservations

Anyone interested in using the parks for events must first check with Town Hall for availability to reserve the pavilions. We now have two pavilions that are available to the public for events. The permit is $50.00 and if the pavilion is cleaned and no damages $25.00 will be refunded. For more details call 337-566-2322.

TOWN BIRTHDAY

1/9/2023

On January 6th the town celebrates it's 106th Birthday. C.W. Krotz successfully incorporated Krotz Springs as a village on January 6, 1917. The proclamation creating Krotz Springs was signed by Governor R.G. Pleasant. Krotz Springs remained a village until 1955 when it was declared a town.

KROTZ SPRINGS PORT COMMISSION

Cindy Stelly has been appointed as the new Port Director for the Krotz Springs Port Commission. Congratulations Cindy! Cindy is a graduate of Melville High Schoo, a lifelong resident of St. Landry Parish. She and her husband, Mike, have three children and ten grandchildren. Cindy has worked for the Port of Krotz Springs as the Executive Secretary supporting the director since 2003. Cindy is a Councilwoman for the Town of Krotz Springs and served as Mayor Pro-Tem for a term. Cindy served as a Board Member for St. Landry Parish Emergency 911, Krotz Springs Sportsmen's Heritage Festival, a lifetime parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and devotedly serves her community. Congratulations Cindy! Well deserved!

Community Center Anniversary

1/1/2021

This month marks the 18th Anniversary of the opening of the Gary Soileau Community Center. Rental of the facility is $700 with a deposit of $200. The deposit is refundable upon completion of all requirements. A contract must be signed and payment is required prior to activity. The community center has become a great asset to our town, we have a library and clinic established in the building.
