Summer Reading Program

The The Krotz Springs Municipal Public Library is thrilled to announce our  Summer Reading Program: "Color Our World". We invite you to embark on a journey of art and creativity, celebrating ways in which art enriches our lives. Our program is designed to inspire and engage readers of all ages through a diverse array of artistic expressions. Our program will be held from June 9th through June 13th at the Gary Soileua Community Center, 216 Park Street from 10am to 12pm. For more information contact April Fletcher at 337-566-8190.

Code Red

The Town of Krotz Springs has implemented CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based OnSolve, LLC. The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the Town of Krotz Springs emergency planning and communications outreach to both citizens and staff. The system sends telephone calls, test messages, and emails to inform residents to better protect life and property. CodeRED was selected for its reliabilty and accuracy, as well as the system's wide spread adoption rates across the U.S.

Looking Ahead: Buy a Brick

I know there are many Veteran's and Veteran supporters in our little town and surrounding area. In the future we will be selling bricks for a Krotz Springs Veteran Memorial at Nall Park. Park Reservations

Anyone interested in using the parks for events must first check with Town Hall for availability to reserve the pavilions. We now have two pavilions that are available to the public for events. The permit is $50.00 and if the pavilion is cleaned and no damages $25.00 will be refunded. If you are planning to have a fun jump or water slide please notify the town. There are designated areas for the inflatables. For more details call 337-566-2322.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest distribution will take place April 22nd and 23rd at the Gary Soileau Community Center, 216 Park Street from 7:00am to 10:00am. Applications can be picked up at Town Hall Monday-Friday, from 8am-4pm. For more information please call 337-566-2322. Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food and support to over 500 community partners and programs across 23 parishes. Krotz Springs is one many distribution sites to provide food. We currently service over 500 applicants in the parish. Our staff with the help of volunteers, Delek Refinery employees have made this a successful program in our town. On delivery day we receiver anywhere from 12,000 pounds to 18,000 pounds of groceries, we break down these pallets and make over 500 bags to be distributed to the public on two designated days every month. We would like to thank Mayor Carroll B. Snyder for starting the program, and Felicia Barker for heading this program and making it a success.

Senior Party

Remember that our Community Senior Citizens parties are held every first Tusday of the month at 1pm in the Activity Room at Town Hall. In April we will  be playing Bingo! So come out and enjoy the afternoon in your honor!

Summer Ball Program

Our summer recreation ball program has begun for the summer. We have 9 teams registered for the ball program. Please come by the ball parks and support our young ball players. The Town of Krotz Springs has recently upgraded the fields, fixed fences and painted Hill Park facilities. A big thanks to the Town of Krotz Springs for supporting this wonderful program, Felicia Barker and all volunteers who help to make this a successful program.

Town Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Town Easter Egg Hunt will be held April 17th at 4:30pm at Nall Park, 548 Haas Street. We will have 4 age groups: Walking to two year old, three to four year old, kindergarten to second grade, and third and fourth grade. The Easter Bunny will be there for photo ops! Come out and enjoy the fun!

Utility Notices/Payments

Disconnects/penalty notices will no longer be posted on doors, they will be mailed on the 16th of every month. The past due payment must be received before the disconnect date. Disconnect date is the second Tuesday of every month. There will be no exceptions or extensions. If you want to make payments please go to our website krotzsprings.org and click on payment options then utilities and follow the prompts or call 1-877-222-4668 or 1-877-222-0377 payment form #ID138702 and always say for utilites. We still accept payments in the drop box and payments at the counter in town hall. If you have any questions please call 337-566-2322.
